Mr. Raja Senanayake, Deputy Chairman of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC – the parent company of CBC Myanmar Microfinance (Pvt.) Ltd. – was appointed as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director and Chairman in February 2025.
A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), he brings over 35 years of post-qualifying experience. He holds a B.Com. (Special) degree with Second Class Upper Division honours and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Mr. Senanayake began his career at Ernst & Young and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC as Financial Accountant in 1991 and moved to Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC in 1994, where he served for 13 years, ultimately as Assistant General Manager – Finance & Planning. He later served as Chief Financial Officer at Nations Trust Bank PLC.
His current leadership roles include Chairman of Senkadagala Finance PLC (a Non-Banking Financial Institution) and Orysys Ltd. (an IT subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC), Director of Virtual Capital Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. (a software development company that caters to the New Zealand and the Australian markets), Consultant to Smart Media (Pvt) Ltd – The Annual Report Company, and Advisor to Unicorn Hatch Ltd., a SaaS AI-powered applications builder incorporated in New Zealand).
Mr. Senanayake has deep expertise in financial services, financial and capital management, corporate governance, compliance, sustainability, and integrated reporting. He has undergone specialised training in banking and finance with Euromoney and in general management with the National University of Singapore.
Mr. Dilan Rodrigo brings over 31 years of experience with Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC to his new role as The Managing Director / Country Head of CBC Myanmar Microfinance. His career began in International Credit in the Foreign Branch. Being the first Business Promotion Officer of the bank, he was influential in promoting remittance business and bank products to Sri Lanka whilst being based in the State of Qatar. Dilan then returned to Sri Lanka where he gained extensive experience across various departments and successfully managed a number of branches helping them to be elevated to the next level of grading. Before transitioning to CBC Myanmar, Dilan served as the Senior Manager of Old Moor Street Branch.
Dilan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from the University of the West of Scotland and is an Associate of The Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (AIB - SL). He has also earned professional certifications, as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Global Business Analyst, both from the Institute of CMA of Australia.
Mr. S Prabagar is a senior banker with over 27 years of diversified banking experience with Commercial Bank and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. He has served as Branch Manager of mid-sized and larger branches in Colombo, performed duties as the Chief Operating Officer and the Country Manager of the Bank’s Bangladesh Operations, provided leadership to Internal Audit function of the Bank as the Head and Assistant General Manager, spearheaded the Bank operations as the Assistant General Manager in charge of Operations and lead Corporate Banking as the Deputy General Manager, which was the last position held by him before taking up the current responsibility.
Mr. Prabagar holds an MBA in Banking from University of London, an Associate of Institute of Bankers (AIB - SL), and B. Com from Bharathidasan University in India. He is fully qualified in CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK), and CISA (Certified in System Audit – USA), also holding a Diploma in System Security and Control Audit (DISSCA – CASL).
Currently he holds the position of Non-Independent/ Non-Executive Director of Commercial Bank of Maldives (Pvt) Ltd. A subsidiary of the Bank.
Mr. Hettiarachchi served for over 41 years at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, where he held key leadership roles including Deputy General Manager - Personal Banking, overseeing a national network of 272 branches. Under his leadership, the Bank achieved record-breaking growth in both deposits and advances. He played a pivotal role in scaling SME lending to become the largest portfolio in the country, while also introducing innovative capacity-building programs for SMEs. He also designed and implemented the Microfinance business model for Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC and was a key member of the team instrumental in setting up the Microfinance business in Myanmar.
Mr. Hettiarachchi is also a Director Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. since 2019 and CBC Finance Ltd. since September 2025. Beyond his corporate roles, he has been a sought-after trainer and resource person, conducting national-level training programs on topics such as project financing and lending techniques, including sessions at the Training Centre of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
He holds an MBA with Distinction from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers (Sri Lanka), and has obtained the Intermediate Certificate in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
Renowned for his expertise in SME banking, leadership development, strategic planning & microfinance business, Mr. Hettiarachchi continues to contribute to the financial services industry as a leadership coach, public speaker, and mentor, with a strong focus on organizational growth and people development.
Mr S Ganeshan is a senior Banker with over 35 years banking experience. Currently holds the position of Assistant General Manager Personal banking / SME, at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, functioning as the Corporate Head of 3 Regions which includes 46 Branches. He has also served as Branch Manager in both Mid -sized and larger branches in Colombo and outstation, performed duties as Regional Manager overlooking 2 Regions which included 27 Branches. He has given leadership for the launching of “Bank on wheels” operation(BOW) for the bank.
Mr Ganeshan Holds an Intermediate Diploma in Banking & Finance (IBSL Srilanka) and Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration- Staffordshire University- UK.
Mr Sanath Manatunge is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK (FCMA – UK) and has obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with a Merit Pass. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Bankers – Sri Lanka (FIB), a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCMA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, UK (FCMI). Mr Manatunge is also a member of Sri Lanka Institute of Directors since August 2017.
Mr Manatunge joined the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC in 1989. Prior to being appointed as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Manatunge functioned as Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of the Bank since 2018. He has held Corporate Management / Senior positions as Deputy General Manager – Corporate Banking, Chief Risk Officer, Head of Credit Risk and Chief Manager - Corporate Banking.
Under Mr Manatunge, the Corporate Banking Division of the Bank experienced a rapid growth in the loan book and in areas such as Trade Finance fee-based income while maintaining the quality of advances. During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Manatunge was heading strategically important business units of the Bank such as Personal Banking, Corporate Banking, Information Technology, Cards, and Digital Banking guiding them to become industry leaders. He has also given leadership and strategic inputs for transformational projects of the Bank such as “SME Transformation”, establishing a long term digital roadmap for the Bank and many projects to improve operational excellence.
Mr Manatunge is also a Director of Commercial Bank of Maldives (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC since 2016.
He was adjudged the “Chief Information Security Officer of the Year” at the EC – Council Global CISO Forum held in Atlanta – USA in September 2013 in recognition of his outstanding contribution in strengthening and promoting information security practices and IT Risk Management.
He was instrumental in forming the Association of Banking Sector Risk Professionals, Sri Lanka and was the President in the year 2014. He has also served as a Council Member of the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) and a member of the CIMA – “Thought Leadership Committee”.
He was a visiting lecturer for the MBA Degree programme at the University of Colombo. Also a resource person at the Training Centre of Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
