This initiative includes attending the Manager's Conference 2025, organized by our parent company, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, in Sri Lanka. Additionally, our team visited Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Galewela, and Kurunegala to explore best practices in modern sustainable agriculture and gain hands-on experience in the integration of advanced technology in agriculture.

In response to the recent flooding, CBC Myanmar has stepped forward to support affected communities by providing essential aid and relief supplies to residents in Aye Lar, Pyinmana, and Tatkon areas. Empowering Microfinance Center Leaders: Financial Literacy Awareness Program

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting financial inclusion and sustainable economic development, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of a Financial Literacy and Capacity Building Program for Center Leaders. This initiative aims to strengthen the financial knowledge and managerial capabilities of center leaders, enabling them to provide more effective guidance and support to their communities.

"The Lewe Branch team organized a donation for their clients affected by recent tornado in the villages of ' Ta Dar U' and Aung Myin Kone'. The CSR activity is another step in the continued efforts by the company towards the welfare of the community"

CBC Marks its presence in Pyinmana Township

The 4th Branch of CBC Myanmar, was declared opened at No. (6/86), (8) Street, Shwe Chi Ward, Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw. on 15th July,2020.

Pyinmana being the commercial hub in the Naypyitaw Union Territory, Branch will be facilitating advances to mainly Micro & Small Entrepreneurs and also salaried staff residing in the township.

Officials of the Financial Regulatory Department of Naypyitaw Council Office along with the Senior Management Team of the Company proceeded with the formal opening.

Rehabilitation of a historical Pagoda

Company contributed for a re-habilitation work of an ancient Pagoda (600 years aged) which belongs to the Kingdom of Bagan in Tha Yet Taw Village in Naypyitaw.

The Manager of the Zabuthiri Branch and the members of the relevant branch staff initiated this good cause of which the Company did support as a Social Responsibility assignment.

CBC Myanmar Donates

Company executed a donation for the villagers whose houses were burnt caused by an accidental fire at Done New Village attached to Detkhina thiri Township in Naypyitaw.

This was initiated by the Senior Manager of the Lewe Branch and the members of the relevant branch staff of which the Company leveraged as a Social Responsibility obligation.

Water Festival - 2020

Thingyan Festival otherwise called the Water Festival is the festival which denotes Myanmar's New Year which falls on mid of April each year.

Due to the unfortunate conditions prevailing across the world, celebrations did not take place this year. Instead Zabuthiri Branch Manager & staff initiated to prepare a traditional food item called “Glutinus Rice Ball” and was shared with the neighbours as a part of celebration in a low profile on 03rd of April, 2020. Several staff members from other branches too joined this activity.

Center Landers’s Workshop

CBC Myanmar Organized its first Center Leader’s Workshop under the stewardship of its Chief Operating Officer Mr. Priyankara Senarathna with the assistance of Senior Manager Lewe and his staff on 28.02.2020 at Mingalar Thiri Hall, Lewe Township, Naypyitaw.

This was organized as a part of social welfare activity to give awareness on the aftermaths of over-indebtedness of which was addressed by the Deputy Director of FRD Naypyitaw Council Office U Aye Win.

CBC Myanmar Opens at Myo Ma Market (Zabuthiri Township - Naypyitaw)

The 3rd Branch of CBC Myanmar, was declared opened at Shop No.(Pa - 249), Myo Ma Market, Zabuthiri Township, Naypyitaw on 18th June,2019.

Zabuthiri Branch will be engaged in facilitating advances to Micro & Small Entrepreneurs and Government staff residing in the township.

CBC Myanmar, ceremonially opens its second branch office at No (171), Myo Thit (4) Street, Aye Lar Village Tract, Lewe Township, Naypyitaw on 28th May,2019. The branch will provide inclusive financial services to empower micro and small entrepreneurs in the community towards a better future, whilst contributing to the national economy of Myanmar.

Managing Director / Country Head of the Company proceeded at the formal opening of the Aye Lar Branch along with distinguished invitees and Senior Management of the company.

CBC Myanmar Microfinance Company starts operations in Nay Pyi Taw on the 16th July,2018 as a non-deposit taking organization, engaged in group lending activities. The company is a subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon which is a leading private bank in Sri Lanka.

Commercial Bank’s Chairman Dharma Dheerasinghe presided at the formal opening of CBC Myanmar Microfinance Company Ltd. accompanied by Managing Director Jegan Durairatnam and the senior management members of the Bank.
